  • Introduction to modelingwe will examine the technologies suitable for creating 3D modeling projects, therefore the software that are usually used in this type of project
  • Groups, components and layers we will deepen the Layer working method that is usually used in these processes and that we will also follow
  • From 2D to three-dimensionswe will talk about the procedure that leads us to transform a two-dimensional model into a 3D model
  • Main techniques3D working techniques mainly used (such as alteration, exclusion, extrusion…) to give you the right notions to work your three-dimensional model
  • Interior and exteriorwe will mainly present the highlights that characterize the modeling for indoor and outdoor spaces
  • Lighting managementhow to manage the use of light within a project in outdoor spaces, both as regards night and daytime sunlight
  • Materials creationthe work to be carried out to model the main materials (wood, plastic…) within the modeling project
  • Urban furnishingswe will go to see the main things such as signs, benches, baskets, objects such as cars and passers-by, as well as urban green

For who

In these lessons we turn to all those who want to undertake a path within 3D modeling starting from projects in two dimensions.

For this course, modeling software indicated by the teacher will be used (such as, for example, SketchUp). The use of a laptop is indicated, without operating system preferences. The material for the exercises will be provided by the teacher. It is also recommended to have a notebook, a pen/pencil, an eraser and possibly a USB stick with you. All programs will be provided by the teachers. Paid programs will be provided as a trial/educational version.

Fundamentals of 3D modeling

The course was specially designed by architects for architects, interior designers and students with the aim of optimizing and speeding up the time needed to create a presentation to the customer, starting from a sketch or a 2D CAD project.

For everyone.

The course is suitable both for those who start from scratch with Sketchup and for those who already have some knowledge but want to consolidate the modeling method, learning a working methodology focused on groups, components and layers. The goal is to be able to make the spaces three-dimensional, focusing on the simplicity and speed of execution that a program like Sketchup offers.

General objects

In the first 3D modeling module we will guide you to discover this world, starting together to create the first 3D solids and to manage the shapes in the appropriate programs. This is the first step for those who want to enter the world of three-dimensional design.

Exterior modeling

In the Exterior Modeling Level 1 module, problematic situations and alternative solutions will be addressed to bypass the obstacles related to managing shadows and contour volumes with exercises. We will teach you the main techniques to go into the modeling of exteriors and thus create your spaces.

Interior modeling

During the Interior Modeling module Level 1, problematic situations and alternative solutions will be addressed to bypass the obstacles related to lighting and mapping of interior spaces with exercises. You will learn the main techniques for moving indoors with the art of modeling.
